The next time you run to a meeting or take a walk between calls, you’re doing way more than burning calories. According to research, you’re boosting your creativity too. (Maybe that’s how I talked my way into an upgrade after sprinting to catch a flight last week.)

Some studies highlight that creative output can improve as much as 60% after simply walking outside or on a treadmill. So what does this mean? If you are someone who is responsible for strategic thinking, you have a business justification to get moving during the day.

Whether it's prepping for a meeting, brainstorming with your team, or making decisions, if you’re reading this newsletter, your work probably requires higher-level cognition. The best way to sharpen your mind during the day? Movement.

Here’s the best part: As I explained here, the world is a gym. Use what’s around you at work and beyond to boost your creativity and problem-solving skills.

So the next time you're stuck on a problem mentally—get moving. Take the stairs, read the news on the tread, make the call a walking call. These activities aren’t breaks. In reality, they’re powering your next creative breakthrough.

Here’s how to make every movement count:

What I’m Packing:

The world is a gym, but I still bring sliders on the road because they easily fit into any workout (and my suitcase). They look deceptively simple, but they’re incredibly effective.

How I’m Getting Creative:

Taking French baking classes at Atelier Sucré. I'm ready to master chocolate mousse, crème brulée, and soufflés whether I’m lactose intolerant or not.

How I’m Decompressing:

Speaking of indulgences,Love is Blind UK” is my guilty pleasure. It’s got me on the edge of my seat and occasionally jumping out of my chair as storylines unfold.
